Weekly Office Staff Report: Tails, Tasks & Tantrums

Status: Coffee-infused and mildly chaotic.
Mood: 82% productive, 18% nap-driven.
Team morale: High (we had snacks).

As the CEO of Brewed Ambitions, I (the human) had every intention of sitting down to write a clean, strategic blog post this week. You know, something polished. Professional. Possibly even informative.

But instead, the dogs insisted on submitting their version of our weekly office happenings. So here we are — your official “Office Staff Weekly Report” as told by the furry freeloaders who run this house (and technically this company, if we’re being honest).

🗂️ Department Overview

🐶 Chief Barketing Officer – Spartacus

Specialty: Loud client acquisition strategies & home security
Weekly Highlights:

  • Successfully barked at 3 Amazon drivers, 2 leaf blowers, and 1 suspicious breeze
  • Interrupted 4 Zoom calls with passionate sales pitches (read: barking at shadows)
  • Took initiative to sit on the keyboard mid-invoice — submitted the document prematurely with the subject line “asdghafjk” (we are now trademarking that)
  • Marked territory on a client welcome packet. We’re calling it “scent branding.”

Performance Review:
Spartacus continues to bring disruptive innovation to the workspace. Specifically, by disrupting anything resembling concentration. That said, his presence is oddly comforting, and the office would feel far too quiet without his TED Talk-style barking sessions.

🐕 Assistant to the Regional Manager – Charlie

Specialty: Emotional support, passive-aggressive yawning
Weekly Highlights:

  • Sat unblinking in front of the coffee machine for 26 minutes, providing moral support during a caffeine crisis
  • Snuggled his way into three client DM sessions, effectively softening the tone of all outgoing communication
  • Tried to eat a sticky note labeled “SEND CONTRACT” — possibly attempting to delay onboarding until nap was complete

Performance Review:
While Charlie is not the fastest worker, his loyalty, warmth, and ability to remind me to slow the hell down are unmatched. He’s requested an ergonomic bed upgrade. We’re currently in negotiations (i.e., he gave me “the look”).

🐾 Junior Intern – Charlie

Specialty: Floor meetings, crumb retrieval, morale boosting
Weekly Highlights:

  • Discovered new productivity hack: knocking pens off the desk until I finally get up to play fetch
  • Sat through 3 training sessions… sat, fell asleep
  • Attempted to submit a pitch deck by licking the laptop until it crashed

Performance Review:
Charlie’s enthusiasm outweighs his actual contributions, but he remains a key player in office morale. Especially when deadlines get tight and the only thing that helps is a good boop on the nose.

🦴 Treat Procurement Officer – Spartacus

Specialty: Strategic whining, hiding snacks in the blanket bin
Weekly Highlights:

  • Stared longingly at the snack drawer until I cracked (twice)
  • Barked once at the microwave, once at a crouton, and once at absolutely nothing
  • Made an executive decision to nap across the entire planner spread

Performance Review:
Spartacus continues to be wildly unproductive in traditional terms, but arguably the most committed to work-life balance. He’s become the poster dog for reminding me when it’s time to close the laptop.

☕ CEO Notes (from the Human)

While the four-legged staff may not be great with spreadsheets or deadlines, they are remarkably good at reminding me what matters:

  • Taking breaks when you’re burning out
  • Asking for what you need (even if it’s a walk or a snack)
  • Barking boundaries when necessary
  • Being completely yourself — weird noises, quirks and all

Running a business — especially one rooted in service like Brewed Ambitions — is a deeply human (and sometimes deeply messy) experience. Having these tiny, judgment-free weirdos around has been the emotional anchor I didn’t know I needed when I launched this thing.

They don’t care if I hit all my KPIs.
They just care that I’m present.
And that I drop the occasional goldfish cracker under the desk.

📈 Office Stats

  • Number of naps taken (combined): 37
  • Slack messages deleted because of a rogue paw: 2
  • Client contracts reviewed with a dog in my lap: 4
  • Unprompted inspirational stares from across the room: 8
  • Zoom meeting photobombs: 5
  • Heart-melting moments: too many to count

🗓️ Next Week’s Forecast

  • Monday: High chance of productivity. Medium chance of barking through client onboarding.
  • Tuesday: Midweek motivation walk (or just staring out the window).
  • Wednesday: Creative brainstorming, likely while holding a squeaky toy hostage.
  • Thursday: Email batching day, supervised by Daisy’s snoring.
  • Friday: CEO reset and dog treat tax day.
  • Weekend: Full rest mode unless the mailman shows up, in which case all hell breaks loose.

🐕 Final Thoughts from the Team

We may not be able to code, schedule, or audit…
But we sure know how to love a tired business owner back to life.

So if you’re building a business — and questioning if you’re “doing enough” — maybe ask your office staff what they think.
Mine say I’m crushing it.
(They also say I need to get up and let them out.)

Until next time,

May your inbox be clear, your coffee strong, and your to-do list dog-hair-free.
