How to Market Your Services with Intention

Stop Posting and Hoping: How to Market Your Services with Intention

If your marketing strategy lately has been “throw spaghetti at the wall and hope someone DMs you,” you’re not alone—but you’re also not booking clients.

Let’s change that.

The truth is, marketing isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing it with intention. You don’t need more posts, more platforms, or more burnout. You need clarity, consistency, and conversations.

The Trap of “I’m Showing Up… So Why Isn’t It Working?”

Showing up daily doesn’t equal visibility if no one understands:

  • Who you help
  • How you help
  • Why you are the one to do it

A pretty post without a plan is just decoration on the feed.

You don’t need to be an influencer. You need to be known for something that solves a problem.

Step 1: Clarity First, Always

Before you even open Canva, get crystal clear on:

  • What’s the problem you solve?
  • Who has that problem (and knows they have it)?
  • What outcome do they get after working with you?

Instead of saying:

“I help business owners get organized.”

Try:

“I help overwhelmed online service providers simplify their systems so they can stop living in their inbox and start scaling with confidence.”

Clarity isn’t boring. Clarity books clients.

Step 2: Speak Directly to One Person

Yes, your post can go “viral.” But what gets someone to click, comment, or message you is when they feel like you’re in their head.

Talk to the one person who is:

  • Exhausted from doing it all
  • Afraid to ask for help again because they’ve been burned
  • Scrolling, hoping someone understands the chaos behind their curated brand

That’s your person.

Step 3: Add a CTA That Starts a Conversation

Posting “DM me to work together” won’t cut it. Your CTA should:

  • Be easy to say yes to
  • Feel natural, not needy
  • Lead to a soft-start convo

Try:

  • “Want your content done for you next week? I’ve got 2 slots open—send me a 💬”
  • “Curious what engagement support could look like for you? I’ll show you mine if you show me your group.”

The right people want to talk. You need to give them a reason to.

Step 4: Don’t Just Post—Market

Ask yourself before hitting publish:

  • Does this show what I do?
  • Does this help someone solve a problem or feel seen?
  • Does this connect my offer to a need?

And if the answer is no… save it for later.

Every post doesn’t have to sell. But every post should build the bridge.

Step 5: Use the Rule of 3s

To stay top of mind without becoming background noise, rotate these 3 types of content:

  1. Credibility Content
    • Before & afters
    • Behind-the-scenes
    • “Here’s how I helped ___ do ___”
  2. Connection Content
    • Your story
    • Your chaos
    • Your values, your vibe
  3. Conversion Content
    • Offers
    • Client spotlights
    • Calls to take action

Let’s Wrap This With a Real Talk Pep Talk

You don’t need to become the loudest. You just need to be the clearest.

And if the algorithm’s been quiet or your inbox has been dry, this isn’t the time to pull back. It’s time to sharpen your message, show up as the solution, and keep showing up even when it’s quiet.

Because people are watching.

And your next client isn’t coming from luck.
They’re coming because you finally showed them what you actually do.
