Office Staff Report: Management Has Been Through It

Hello everyone,

We, the office staff, felt it was time to step in and provide a formal update since upper management has been a little… inconsistent lately.

And by inconsistent, we mean absent, emotionally unavailable, suspiciously tired, and not nearly as productive as we have come to expect from the woman in charge of snacks, schedules, and general business operations.

Frankly, things around here have been a mess.

Now, before anyone gets dramatic, let us be clear: no one has been fired. The company has not collapsed. The coffee supply remains intact. The laptops still open. The notebooks are still everywhere. The to-do lists are still being written with a level of optimism that borders on delusion.

But the vibe?

The vibe has been off.

As loyal and highly observant members of this organization, we have noticed a decline in several key operational areas, including but not limited to:

  • reduced movement from one room to another
  • unusual levels of couch time
  • lower-than-average enthusiasm for tasks
  • delayed response times from management
  • frequent pauses for staring into space
  • less structured workdays
  • and a dramatic increase in “we’ll deal with it tomorrow” leadership

Naturally, we became concerned.

We are, after all, the backbone of this company.

Charlie, Chief Snuggle Officer, has continued to maintain morale through emotional support, strategic cuddling, and a very strong commitment to being wherever management is, whether invited or not.

Spartacus, Head of Security, has remained alert and on duty at all times, except for when he is asleep, which is honestly still most of the time. Even so, his presence has been felt, and his suspicious barking at absolutely nothing has kept the entire organization humble.

Lagatha, Chief Motivation Officer, has done her best to keep spirits up through relentless cuteness, proximity-based encouragement, and the occasional deeply inspiring look that says, “I do not know what is happening, but I support you completely.”

Together, we have carried this place.

You’re welcome.

Of course, we understand that management is, in fact, human. A fragile, overcaffeinated human with a lot on her plate and a tendency to try to hold everything together with determination, sarcasm, and a nice notebook.

So while we have many concerns about recent productivity metrics, we have also chosen to extend a bit of grace.

Mostly because she controls the treat budget.

But also because sometimes life gets heavy.

Sometimes the things behind the scenes pull more focus than the plans on the calendar. Sometimes the energy just is not there. Sometimes the best a person can do is keep things afloat, handle what they can, and hope tomorrow feels a little more manageable.

As office staff, we may not fully understand spreadsheets, social media strategy, Human Design studies, blog planning, or why management insists on opening seventeen tabs at once and then acting overwhelmed.

But we do understand when our person is tired.

We understand slow days.
We understand quiet days.
We understand days where the plan changes.
We understand needing a little extra rest.
Honestly, we are strong believers in rest. We are basically industry leaders in it.

And from our professional perspective, management has not failed.

She has simply been in a slower season.

A somewhat chaotic season.
A slightly disorganized season.
A season where forward motion has looked less like “CEO power hour” and more like “drink coffee and try not to cry over the to-do list.”

Still counts.

That is the official office position on the matter.

Now, has the company been running at full capacity? No.

Has leadership maybe been winging it a little more than usual? Also no. More than a little. But that is beside the point.

Because despite recent delays, there are signs of improvement.

Coffee consumption appears steady.
Laptop usage is increasing.
Notes are being gathered.
The blog is active again.
Ideas are returning.
Work is slowly making its way back onto the radar.

This tells us one very important thing:

Management is still in the game.

And as long as she is still in the game, we, the office staff, will continue our duties with excellence, loyalty, and the occasional interruption for potty breaks, dramatic sighing, and absolutely necessary lap occupation.

So if things have seemed a little quieter around here lately, please know the office staff has been monitoring the situation very closely.

We have remained on site.
We have maintained emotional support services.
We have supervised all snack breaks.
We have handled several emergency cuddle sessions.
We have conducted extensive floor-level investigations.
And we have continued to believe that management would find her footing again, even if it took a little time.

She’s getting there.

Slowly.
Gently.
With coffee.
And probably still a little overwhelmed.

But getting there all the same.

In the meantime, we ask for your patience as normal business operations resume at a pace that feels slightly less feral and slightly more functional.

Thank you for your continued support of this organization and its leadership team.

Respectfully,

The Office Staff
Chief Snuggle Officer
Head of Security
Chief Motivation Officer
Unpaid, underrecognized, and somehow still carrying this company on pure fluff and emotional intuition
